GATORZ Blastshield

The Blastshield is designed to support use across a variety of environments, featuring an ICM system that allows lenses to be changed easily and quickly. This allows you to select the appropriate lens for different lighting conditions, whether outdoors, at night, or in areas with bright light.

It features Ghost Temple temples with a slim and lightweight design for greater wearing comfort. They are also suitable for use with Earmuffs or helmets, helping reduce pressure around the head and discomfort during extended wear.

The large lens provides coverage around the eyes, increasing the field of view and protection during use.

All Blastshield models come with MILSPEC-standard lenses that meet the MIL-PRF-32432A standard, a high-impact protection standard for eye protection equipment used by the U.S. military. The lens and frame are tested to withstand impact from a T37-shaped projectile, .15 caliber, weighing 5.8 grains, at an approximate velocity of 700–725 feet per second, without cracking, shattering, or dislodging from the frame.

This standard was developed for eye protection in environments requiring a high level of impact protection, making the Blastshield suitable for applications where mobility, comfort, and MILSPEC-level eye protection are important.

Lens Technology & Features

Non-Polarized Lens: General-purpose lenses that help reduce glare for greater visual comfort, but do not have a filter to reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or metal.

Polarized Lens: Lenses with a special filter that helps reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or metal, providing clearer and more comfortable vision in environments with strong reflections or bright light.

Photochromic Lens: Lenses that automatically adjust their tint according to UV exposure, helping to balance light levels across different environments.

Note:
The Blastshield comes with MILSPEC Ballistic standard lenses.

MILSPEC Lens or Ballistic Lens: Specially reinforced lenses that meet the latest U.S. military standard MIL-PRF-32432A, Clause 3.8.4.1 – Ballistic Fragmentation Characteristics.

They can provide protection against high-velocity fragments traveling at speeds of up to 725 feet per second, making them suitable for military personnel, police officers, civil defense officers, or those working in high-risk environments.
